I figured I would put this in the beer travel section, as it seemed to make sense to me. Maybe I just had a few too many tonight, though.
I just wanted to say, how awesome is it to have the beer fridge / kegorator right in the room / mancave where you hang out all the time?! I mean, it just rocks, not having to “travel to the kitchen” for a beer. In fact, for a long time, I had my mancave set up so I did not even have to get out of my Lazy-Boy to pull a pint. Who here is with me? 8)
I have to get up and walk 21 feet to the kegerator. Keep it in near the living room at the end of the kitchen. If I kept it next to the couch then there’d be no exercise.
That being said my entire house is a mancave. If I wanted to I could sling a giant hammock in the living room. What I’m thinking is to put my sanyo on some caster wheels or a furniture dolly. Then it could be wheeled over to the couch/tv/entertainment area with ease.
I keep it all in the garage, even the commercial beer. But then I’m sitting pretty close to the garage. 21 feet euge? Nice. I’m 27 feet from the kegerator, 28 from the bottle fridge. I don’t mind the walk, the destination is worth it.
I haven’t measured but I’m guessing it’s about 35-40 feet to my beer, but I don’t mind having to get a little exercise for a beer ;D
Right now I’d say I’m about 7 miles from my beer.
Maybe I should get one of those cameras so I can monitor it from here.
My taps are in the garage, a short walk from the living room.
I have to go down the stairs to the basement. And it’s on the far wall from the steps too. Guess a little exercise doesn’t hurt though
I don’t mind the exercise so much. It’s the triping over the dog and falling flat on your face the makes me mad. ;D
Mine is in the garage. I use it as a litmus test to see if I am an alcolholic.
If I am too lazy to go downstairs for a beer, I’m good. ;D
Been there.
(Too lazy to get a beer, really?!?!) :o Yeah I know. But hey, it happens.
I have a wierd house. Kitchen and main living areas are on the second floor.
It’s on a slab, the basement is on the ground. :-\
For a while I was having to step over a skunk in the garage, but he was cool. he didn’t bother us as long as we didn’t bother him while he ate our cat food.
It’s good you two came to an understanding. That’s what beer is about. Good friends.
About 40 ft from the tap.
Bought a pitcher to cut down on mileage.
