Yes NOW we can. If you click on a user there is an option to chat. Its available for everyone trust level 1 or higher. Cheers.

So you can’t have more than 3 consecutive replies on a post???
That’s annoying. That’s annoying.
PS. I had to write it twice because you also have to have 20 characters

Hi all. These are anti spam settings. We left Discourse defaults for a lot these settings as forum hosting is their bread and butter. We’re always open to adjusting these as we get further into this new platform and learn more about how the community wants to use it.
Please continue to point out things like the minimum character limit and we’ll review.
For now, I’ve adjusted the minimum character limit to 8 characters, and I’ve also bumped the consecutive reply limit to 4. If you have reasons it should be higher than that, please let me know.

I don’t like that you (seemingly) no longer quote a previous post in a thread. That is useful. Maybe it’s possible? Please advise!

Hi. Go to text you want to quote, highlight and options pop up. Choose what you want to do.

Yeah, it doesn’t let you quote the entirety of the previous post. I can understand the reasoning behind that … The post is right there for folks to read.
You can still quote specific portions of previous posts if you’re responding to a specific statement.
