How is this different than regular malted wheat? Is it as given to stuck sparges?
I know that the protein level is different than red wheat. I think it’s higher but I’m not positive.
If you are talking about white vs. red wheat then there is not much difference between them from a flavor standpoint. The red wheat has a slightly fuller or rounder flavor as opposed to the white. I also understand that they runoff equally as well.
Thankyou for your replies. I asked because I read where the white wheat grain is larger. In the description it said there was no need to readjust my grain mill. Which I have never done for wheat anyway.
Some wheat is also a different size and could cause issues during grinding depending on your mill gap. I know the German wheat is always relatively close to the size of barley malt, American is sometimes smaller.
Ive noticed this also. Also for my palate, I think white wheat lacks the flavor of say Weyermann Pale Wheat.
