I’ve released a free beer recipe formulation app for the iPad.

I’ve been homebrewing since the late 90s and I’ve won multiple BOS awards around the country, AHA Mead Maker of the Year, and the Midwest Homebrewer of the Year.

I’ve taken just the elements I need as a brewer to make a simple, easy to use app that focuses only on the elements you need to put together a recipe.

X2 thanks! I currently use Beer Alchemy, I like the integration across all iOS devices, but it does lack some flexibility.

It’s version 1 of the recipe formulation. I was trying to keep it simple and present everything on one screen.

As a long time all grain brewer, there’s just a few things I care about with regard to recipe formulation:

  1. hitting my target gravity
  2. calculating IBUs
  3. notes on yeast & ferm temp

I used to use ProMash, but was tired of keeping an old Windows box around for that. In ProMash I never used any other recipe features.

I wrote BrewBot for what I needed and wanted.
