What's brewing this weekend 1/29

Its been a while since I’ve been able to brew a light colored beer so I’m going to brew either an Amarillo APA or a Cascade & Amarillo APA.  I want to make a Marzen / Oktoberfest and a Dunkel but the weather here is too cold yet.

Going to Nashville this weekend.  But on Monday I plan to transfer last weeks brew(Newcastle clone) into secondary and brewing a wit.

Thanks!  I was hoping for an answer along these lines.  I’m still too new at all-grain to attempt anything “seat of the pants” - if I end up with something awesome, I want to be able to duplicate it.  However I do have a RIS coming up that I wanted to partigyle and figured the seconde gyle would be the time to brew “on the fly.”

Brewing an Irish Red and bottling a Cali Common.

Maybe a Vienna.  Maybe a Pils.

Went big last week, so I’ll make a bitter this weekend.

House IPA for me.

IPA for the wife (well, ok me too) going with some Columbus for the first time.

Schwarzbier or a Baltic Porter. Got some beautiful 2124 slurry that I racked a Pils off last night.
Pretty stuff

Ohhh… I like CTZ!!  It’s great for bitter, flavor and aroma although I usually use Magnum for the bitter & save the CTZ for flavor & aroma. Works well with the other C hops & Amarillo too!!!

Any Pics??? :o

ROFL

I actually thought of taking a few last night when looking at it just prior to racking and then again when it was in the mason jars.

Maybe I’ll go a semi-SMASH route
Have about enough Halcyon left in a bucket to get the OG to 1.050 or so , bring it up to 1.070 with Canada Pale and go all Columbus to about 11

I am covering both ends of the color spectrum today with a 3 SRM Koelsch and a 30 SRM American Brown.

Boiling this as I type

8.50 lb Pilsner (2 Row) UK (2.0 SRM) Grain 89.47 %
1.00 lb Munich I (Weyermann) (7.1 SRM) Grain 10.53 %
0.75 oz Magnum [14.20 %] (60 min) Hops 32.5 IBU
1.00 oz Saaz [4.00 %] (20 min) Hops 8.2 IBU
1.00 oz Saaz [4.00 %] (10 min) Hops 4.9 IBU
1.00 oz Saaz [4.00 %] (0 min) Hops -
1 Pkgs SafAle US-05 (DCL Yeast) Yeast-Ale

I’m doing a Bock tomorrow and then will do10 gallons of APA on Monday.

Finished brewing 5g of extract - organic dry stout.  House still smells like coffee… wonderful.

My house IPA is all Columbus and Centennial. I love Columbus/Zeus/Tomahawk!

Made a Best Bitter yesterday.  Racked a southern english brown during the boil and used the slurry (WLP022 essex ale).

I’ll knock out the IPA during the week after work.

Nothing can ever go right …right?
Wired up a 4500 watt 240 element in the keggle, works great!

Problem… works too great at around 50% boil off after a test boil revealed that the thermocouple crapped out on me and no matter what the settings were all screwy. It was always FULL POWER.

All is well now, dont have a brew session in me right now.

Looks like it’s just a WLP002 starter today and the ESB next weekend.
