What's Brewing This Weekend - 4/2 Edition

Well, I may not being brewing this week/end but there is ALWAYS something to do in the brewhouse!  I have a Belgian IPA and a Strong Golden to keg up, 20 gallons of cider to check on and do something with or leave alone…  Barley wine to bottle, and man, I have not even thought about all those meads since last summer!!!  Bottling to do for the next round of comps coming up…

Phew.  Now I am stressed.  None of that is going to happen this week either.

ugh.

Guess  better go have a brew.

;D

I brewed a smoked (robust) porter.

I’m thinking I might fire up the kettles tomorrow and brew another beer. 36 gallons in 8 days is a pretty good speed.

I am brewing a pocorn ale this weekend that will be featured at a local beerfest.

Dry-hopped my second attempt at a Two-Hearted Ale clone. The first clone was very tasty, but it wasn’t quite on the mark for THA per se, and I realized that in halving it and making it partial-mash I had increased the percentage of Vienna seen in most of these recipes. This one seems good but I’m starting to think I liked the first one better! This was also my first attempt at using leaf hops for dry-hopping (with a sanitized chunk of pantyhose and some marbles). No brewing per se until mid-May.

And there we go… another 12 gallons down tonight.

So 8 days, 36 gallons and thank the maker. Can’t brew until this ferments done because my HLT is now serving as a water bath.

8 days and 36 gallons. Isn’t that cute!! I brewed 42 gallons of IPA on Friday.

I made a scottish 80 shilling.  Still getting used to doing 10 gal batches.  Man I need to make a brew stand!

Ohh… check out the big man with his big kettles.

Nice. What was your recipe?

I will be brewing Evil Twin based amber Ale this Sunday.
I might call it Evil Twin Light  ;D

Or the Slightly Evil Twin

The weather here is still cool enough to get in one more batch of alt.  I can ferment it in my garage and it’ll stay in the 52-55 range.  Got my yeast started yesterday.

I racked  a Helles to a keg for lagering on 4/3, and reused the slurry for a Märzen brewed that same day.

Racking a DIPA into the secondary - Brewing an Amber…my brother’s first recipe that he created on his own. Should be fun!

Brewing Denny’s BVIP this weekend.

In the Secondary right now I’ve got “The Left” Nut Brown Ale and the Mega Brew ESB.  Kegged I have a Dead Guy Clone.

If I had my columbus hops, I would do the avery Hog Heaven clone But
Instead I am taking the wkend off and going to the jade patch to look for rocks.
