What's Brewing This Weekend - 7/13 Edition

Yeah, I’m lazy. I forgot… Castigate me and scourge me.

But in the meanwhile, while we’re hot and humid here in CA, what’s everyone brewing? My job this weekend is to get the new bathroom toliet installed and then clean up the brewery cause it’s still pretty ragged after NHC.

Going to do a Festbier for my sister-in-laws wedding. Need to get that knocked out ASAP on Saturday and proceed to drinking some cold beer in victory.

I was going to brew an American brown but I have too much other stuff to do around the house.  In addition to the non-brewing tasks I really need to clean some kegs and clean up around the brewery.

Hmmm not sure if I’m brewing.  If I do, I maybe brew my None More Black IPA, been craving that lately.

Belgian Blonde with tart cherry candi syrup I got while in Seattle. Should make a refreshing summer beer!

11 gallon batch of Bo Pils…with my newly reconfigured stand that now has natural gas! Stoked to not have to buy propane anymore!!  ;D

I’ve got a starter of 1272 ready but I’m not sure what it’s going in. Probably an IPA of some sort. Having bulk ingredients is fun. 8)

No brewing this weekend.  Sitting tight on what I have already going.  Next weekend is the Delaware Battle of the Brews competition that I will be lending a hand judging in.

I brewed 20 gallons last week, so I’m taking a break.  I’ll check in on the stout, tripel and wheat beers I have fermenting and tip a few pints from the kegerator but that’s about it.

Munich Helles, for me.  Last one of the season.  The it’s on to BoPils and N. German Pils in preparation for the cooler months ahead.  I love summer, but I’m already looking forward to fall!

Brewing Hoptoberfest on Wednesday. A lot of firsts for me - first starter, first lager and first all-grain. Still have to tweak my swamp cooler fermentation rig a bit. Gave it a trial run last night, and the fermometer on my carboy was still reading 47F this morning (11 hours later). But I’d say that running a bit cold on the first run is a good problem to have - this means I should be able to pitch in the 40’s and let it rise. I’m pretty sure I can get it to hold at 50F, I just need a bit of practice.

Gonna brew an old ale to keep my burton yeast cake happy. Keg the ordinary bitter used as the yeast starter.and drinking of course

Gonna brew up a Hobgoblin clone as requested by my buddy for his wedding reception.

Brewing up a Rogue Blackened Brutal Bitter!

My brothers and friends have been over the last two weekends and have emptied all of my kegs :'(  This is the first time I have been out of beer in over two years.  I have a stout fermenting and many kegs to clean.

No brewing for me either.  Tomorrow I’m headed to the Maine Brewer’s Guild fest in Boothbay Harbor.  But when I get back to the sunny southwest I need to start brewing seriously again.  I have way too many empty kegs and no backups.

Ouch!  I know the feeling.  When my brothers and their friends come over, it’s game over – time to start brewing.

I’m getting closer!  Working through the weekend, then a couple weeks of guests so no brewing til the end of the month.  Then my wife will be out of town and I have no work for 3 weeks.

Smyrna, DE is hosting the very first beer, wine and food festival tomorrow. I’ll then be celebrating my mother’s birthday on Sunday at Bethany Blues in Rehoboth Beach, DE. No brewing this weekend.

I’ve got more than 10 empty kegs to clean . . . maybe I’ll get to it this weekend, and maybe I’ll get to brew during the next week.  I’ve got a pale ale to brew when I make the time.
