For me, it’s time to keg the Saison Ordinaire and quite possibly the Caledonian Saison.
I feel like I should get an IPA or some such in the tank in preparation for the move. Maybe I’ll borrow a Denny play and do a RYE DIPA or some such so it’ll gracefully age into a Rye Barleywine if I don’t drink enough of it during the move.
Oktoberfest - we are doing a German Theme for our Christmas Party so making it for that - might attempt to do a 10 gallon batch tho (usually do 5) as this is my all-time favorite beer and I want to be able to drink more than a few glasses at the party.
Thanks
Getting in and out of bed is still the worst part of the day.
Once I’m up and around its manageable but every once in a while they poke me a bit as if to say Hey, we’re still here :o
Probably will be bottling Saison, and tapping my Golden Ale (think English lawnmower beer) along with making large volumes of plum wine as the plum glut comes in from the orchard.
Cleaning the pantry out with an American Wheat (try out Citra hops for first time) and maybe an English Bitter if all goes well. Got all of my racking/kegging done during the week, though may bottle a few for gifts/competitions from the kegs. Much consumption anticipated with company (my bro, a fellow brewer) in town.
Well no actual brewing this weekend. Going to bottle my Midas Touch clone I brewed a few days ago. Thought kegging but bottles just seemed right for this one, easier for me to ration out. Which hopefully I can take this to the TN Brewfest to pass out. (Well I guess I should have said hand out, better choice of words.)
Decided to brew Sunday instead of Saturday b/c it will be nearly 10oF warmer and a lot more humid Saturday. Brewing the Surly Furious clone from BYO. Other brewers I know will be brewing the same recipe. Next month we’ll be filling a 55 gal. bourbon barrel with this and dry hopping it in the barrel. This will be our third and, very likely, final brew in this barrel. The barrel is getting long in the tooth. :-\
