What's the brewing community doing this weekend?!

I love hearing about everybody’s plans for the weekend, especially a long and special one like Memorial Day.

Personally, I’ll be camping with some good friends and homebrew to share around. No brewing planned but I will be letting a Belgian Blonde ferment out and hopefully ready for kegging when I return.

Cheers!

Casey

Club brew day on Saturday, stove top batch on Sunday, and 10 gallons Cal Common on Monday along with smoked beef ribs or tri-tip. I will never understand why I invite people that don’t eat pork over for BBQ.

My son, with the Boy Scouts, will be placing flags on gravesites of veterans on Saturday and then he’s marching in the parade on Monday (also his birthday).  Sunday may be the first day this year I get the smoker out and do up some ribs!

If I was closer to TX, I would be there…invite or not  ;D

Drinking my newly tapped BoPils and smoking BBQ - ribs or pork butt (haven’t decided). Gonna make a batch of my homemeade BBQ sauce to go with. My goal is to do little else - have to see how SWMBO responds to that.

Lots of wineries around here open this weekend so we’ll be making the rounds.

I’ll be installing my new cajun cooker burners on the stand and getting them ready to boogie on a batch of 40th Anniversary Brut Beer

I’m driving up to Gainesville to help judge the Hogtown Brew-Off Saturday.  That should be fun.

Gardening, judging in a small comp, more gardening, going to a party where someone else will cook stone oven baked pizza and ply me with fine wines, more gardening.

Maybe do ‘hot dogs’ and potato salad for monday. Think about my grand fathers and all the other veterans in my life.

Planting the rest of my garden. Racking my RIS into a bourbon barrel. Smoking a brisket. Also going to open up our pool for the season. I don’t want to forget to mention that I’m going to set some time aside to RDWHAHB or two.  8)

Rocking

We are doing the graduation tour.  Des Moines, Omaha, Milford and Sheldon.  Two states, two days.  Monday, I’m taking a nap.

I’ll keg my latest ESB(hoppier than usual I hope) and then Saturday night we head to Midland TX so we can catch a flight to France and hopefully Germany for 3 weeks.  It’s time to visit the inlaws, but we’re hoping to get loose pretty fast and maybe head to the Bavarian region or at least the Black Forest for a few days.

Wow, nice.  Enjoy !

Smoker on Saturday.  Brisket.  Maybe a pork shoulder.  Some chicken, some sausages.  Maybe ribs, but I’ve already got too much listed.

Wash the motorcycle and hopefully go further than just around the block.

No brewing, though maybe dry hopping.

I’ve got a nice four day weekend here, so I will try to do a little of everything. Kegging a CAP, which I hope has come out nicely, since I apparently used Cluster and a mystery hop. Also kegging a sour and a braggot. Going to then brew up another sour and braggot. Then plant the rest of the garden and do some kayaking as well.

I was going to brew this morning, but it was so nice I decided to go creek fishing.  I caught 5 trout, all 14-16 inches long…3 browns and 2 rainbows.

Not bad for a morning of creek fishing. The dog appreciated that decision.

Beer related…I have 5 gallons of dubbel and 5 gallons of tripel that I will probably keg tonight.

Supply run, moving corn from greenhouse to garden, canning a couple cases of dme starter wort, working the holiday

Working tomorrow, brewing a 10 gallon batch of something for fun during the day. The off for the weekend! Woot! First full 3 days off in … seems like eternity.

I am watching a my sour mashed beer continue to ferment and opening some bottles of my favorite homebrews to celebrate my anniversary.

Nothing brewing this weekend. Working Sat/Sun. Hoping to get some time in the garden with my son on Monday.
