What's Brewing This Weekend - 9/14 Edition

Probably a SN Celebration style IPA.  I’d like to do a Dubbel or Strong Dark, but I won’t have time to make a starter so I’m thinking something for which I can use dry yeast.

It’s awful isnt’ it?  Hopefully it will break soon.

Doing my first partigyle! Not sure what the two beers will end up being.

I keep hoping, but of course they just revised the numbers: 106 thanks to the fact that we’re getting air in off the desert now thanks to the pressure system parked over the basin and no real break in the 10 day. We’re supposed to get down to 95F a week from Sunday.

The only blessing - the humidity has gone back down.

Bottling a Rasberry Wheat and thinking about brewing a Cream Ale or a Stout.

I brewed a sweet stout yesterday, nothing fancy.  I plan to add chocolate to some of it, see how I like it.

I made 10 gallons of IPA yesterday with Zythos as the late hop addition.

I brewed a helles with wlp833 yesterday.
Thinking about trying brew in a bag soon…
I was cleaning my 10 gallon round mashtun and noticed that the plastic lining was loose and I was able to pull it out of there…makes me think that it’s insulating abilities aren’t very good anymore.  I like the ability to add direct heat to the mashtun with BIAB.  Of course, I’d have something on the bottom to keep the bag from being directly on the burner to prevent scorching.

I kegged a Saison yesterday and plan to keg another fermenter of Saison tonight. They had the same wort but two different yeasts. WLP565 and WLP566.

cool, I did that same split a few weeks ago. don’t have my notes on me but perhaps we can compare later. I remember one being much tarter than the other.

Bottled my Belgian Tripel last weekend.  I have a friend who wants help with a Pumpkin Ale.  Might just have to do that this weekend!  Just have to decide if we want to actually use pumpkin in the recipe, or just the “pumpkin pie type” spices to give it that characteristic flavor.  Anyone have a preferred method?

If you are going to call it a “pumpkin” ale, I prefer it to have pumpkin in the beer.  Humor me ;D.  Even if it is only 1 oz.  If you are going to call it a pumpkin beer, put the damn pumpkin in there!  Even if you can’t taste it!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Brewing an APA on Saturday with a guy from my club for a co-brew comp on his system.  Looking forward to seeing how someone else does things.

I’m going to harvest my hops and brew a fresh hop pale ale on Saturday!

Brewing my Gratuitous Waste of Hops IIPA during the day tomorrow, then have some good friends coming over to crack into the wet-hopped amber we brewed with their hops.

Can’t brew this weekend, because I am in CO, but I am certainly drinking a whole lot of beer I can’t get back home. Next weekend should be pretty busy on the brewing schedule though.

10 gal Cranberry Zinger on Sunday
